Jameela Elfaki is a British (English and Sudanese) Photographer, Creative Director and Director based in London.
Elfaki is an artist who's work transcends categories and multiple mediums. Creating fluidly across Photography, Creative Direction, Directing and Sound (DJing).
Jameela's practices are often focused around identity, representation and the visibility of Women and Non-binary folk of colour. Her work is inspired by her own dual heritage, exploring themes of cultural duality and the nature of different identities coming together. Through her storytelling & direction Jameela embraces both the beauty and the grit. She weaves emotive, human-centred narratives and visually stunning cinematography to create powerful compelling motion.
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2017, Jameela has shot for THE FACE, PORTER, ELLE, GQ Magazine, Wonderland and has Directed for Adidas, ON, Nike, Converse and more.
Jameela is the Founder, Editor in Chief and Creative Director of independent print magazine and creative agency AZEEMA founded in 2017 and was subsequently nominated for The DAZED 100 - 2021. Elfaki is also a recipient of a PPA 30 under 30 New talent Award - 2019 and A participant of the Black Business Incubator at Somerset House 2022.
Photographic Clients include: COACH, ON, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Clarks, Converse, Sole DXB, The Times, British Fashion Council. Elfaki has also worked with the likes of META, DAZED, SHOWSTUDIO, The V&A, The SOUTHBANK CENTRE, & The TATE.
Jameela's international DJ clients include, Dom Perignon, Burberry, Axel Arigato, TATE Modern, Southbank Centre and Soho House, Faemily, Sole DXB & more.
